Tawau: An octogenarian was killed when he was hit by a three-tonne lorry while crossing a road near Taman Berjaya, Mile 3, Jalan Apas, Wednesday morning.District Police Chief ACP Fadil Marsus said the victim has been identified as Julani Isa from Kg Hidayat, Mile 4, Jalan Apas."The Suluk man in his 80s died on the spot while the 37-year-old lorry driver escaped unhurt," he said.

Preliminary investigation showed the lorry was heading to Mile 4 from town when the incident occurred at 11am.
