SOOK: A former employee of a dairy factory here lodged a police report Wednesday claiming to have been unfairly terminated by his employer.Leola Balasius, 29, told police that after having worked for the company for about a year, his assistant manager terminated his service without giving any valid reason.

The father of three children said he again went to see the assistant manager in June this year to demand for an explanation but still nothing was said.

According to Leola, his company terminated 10 workers but reinstated eight of them, except him and another worker in December 2015.

He claimed that the company's action to sack him contradicted the call by the Chief Minister, who during his visit to the dairy factory in September this year, had told the management to offer jobs to youths in the district.

Claiming his termination was illegal as he was not given any prior notice, Leola, from Kg Angkawangan and currently unemployed, said he lodged the police report in the hope of getting his job back.

He was accompanied by more than 60 family members and fellow villagers when lodging the report.

He also said he would pursue his case with the Labour Court.
