Sabah clinch overall title

Kota Kinabalu: Hosts Sabah clinched the overall title at the 8th Pan Borneo Senior Amateur Golf Championship which ended at the Sutera Harbour Golf and Country Club on Thursday.They clinched the challenge trophy by winning both the gross and nett titles in the team event as well as individual gross title from Peter Wong.In the gross event, the Sabah contingent carded a total of 2001 beating Brunei by one shot. Sarawak finished third with 2063 while in the nett category, Sabah with a total score of 1706 beat Brunei by two shots with Sarawak again in third with 1721.

Peter on the other hand, took the individual gross title with a two-day total of 157. Brunei's duo of Afred Sim (159) and Zaini Abd Rahman (163) finished in second and third place respectively.The individual nett title went to Chris Tay of Brunei with his 142 score followed by Adnan Jaud (142 OCB) and Zaini Ajamain (142) while the ladies nett top two places went to Shirley Poh (144) and Christina Tambakau (145).In the age-group categories, the 55-59 title went to Koh Kay Seng (143) with Pg Hj Zamani Pg Hj Ahmad (143) and Dallen Foo (143) in second and third.The top three winners in the 60-64 category were Chin Chee Vun (143), Jaini Kadir (143) and Hj Aziz Bangkol (143).

Anthony Tan with his score of 143 was the winner in the 65-69 category beating Joseph Roman (143) for the title with Ling Leh Kee (144) in third.Age 70-74 title went to Sylvester Ajah (144) followed by Leong Chin Hin (146) and Hj Kula Hj Jamudin (147) while Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr. George Chan Hong Nam (144) took the 75 and above title with Leong Chin Hin (146) and Hj Kula Hj Jamudin (147) in second and third place respectively.
