AirAsia India appoints Amar MD

Kuala Lumpur: AirAsia India has appointed Amar Abrol Managing Director (MD) of the airline in addition to his role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).In a statement Monday, AirAsia India Chairman, S. Ramadorai, said Amar was appointed CEO of the airline in April 2016, replacing Mittu Chandilya."I would like to congratulate Amar on being unanimously chosen by AirAsia India board to become the MD in addition to his current role as CEO," he said.

Malaysia's AirAsia Bhd and Indian conglomerate, Tata Sons, each holds 49 per cent stake in AirAsia India, while the remaining two per cent is held by directors Ramadorai and R. Venkataramanan.AirAsia India at present flies to 11 destinations with its two hubs in Bangalore and New Delhi covering Chandigarh, Jaipur, Guwahati, Imphal, Pune, Goa, Visakhapatnam, Kochi and Hyderabad. – Bernama
