Malaysian women lose to Nepal

Kota Kinabalu: Nepal national women team edged Malaysia 1-0 in a friendly held at Anfa complex in Katmandu on Saturday.The goal was scored in the 31st minutes and National head coach Asyraaf Fong Abdullah said the match was an eye opener for the players and they played well despite the cold weather."It was a very useful training for our girls .They played well especial in defence in breaking down Nepal several dangerous attacks to deny them further scoring chances. ADVERTISEMENT We started with 16-year-old Nurul Azurin Mazlan in goal who played well in her debut and also impressed us was 17 year-old defender Nurathirah Farhana Zairi." I must say that the weather was rather cold for our players and they struggled as the match progressed that affected their performance and resulted in some wayward passing from the centre."Overall I am quite happy with the team. He added that he will continue to search for new players from the Liga Bolasepak Rakyat in January and also the Tun Sharifah Rodziah Cup competition in March to strengthen the squad.

The match on Saturday saw him started with nine regulars and the two new players making their debut were Nurul Azurin Mazlan and 20-year-old striker JI Fedalliah Claritta Jaimin while the rest were Shereilynn Elly Pius, Usliza Usman, Malini Nordin, Nurathirah Farhana Zairi, Masturah Majid, Jaciah Jumilis, Haindee Mosroh, Dadree Rofinus and Nurhanizah Saarani.
