Keningau: Parti Warisan said it is cautious about selecting which opposition parties to work with in the coming elections for fear of betrayal. Its President Dato Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said some election candidates may cross over to other parties after winning the election as happened before. "I'm afraid some YBs will jump to other parties after winning, so we'll have to be selective about which parties we can work with," he said, during a Christmas and New Year Open House in Kg Kauran in conjunction with the party's roadshow in the interior, Sunday.

Political frogging has been part of Sabah's politics since the first State Election in 1967. He did not rule out the possibility of Parti Warisan working with other opposition parties as long as the cooperation could lead to the reclamation of Sabah rights from Kuala Lumpur. He said at the moment the party has not made any decision regarding team work with other opposition parties and is currently focused on its statewide road show. The DAP had lamented that Warisan prefers not to cooperate with other opposition parties "because someone wants to be king".

Shafie urged the community to throw their support to the party in the coming general election so that it would be able to form the new government. Some 8,000 people reportedly attended the event, most of whom registered to join the party. He reiterated that he has no other intention than to save the people of Sabah and in the country, in general, who have been bogged by so many issues among which is high unemployment among graduates.
