Hokkien crooner to perform at KK CNY Carnival

Kota Kinabalu: The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) will be flying in Hokkien songs crooner Catherine Yu (pic) from Selangor to perform at this year's Chinese New Year Carnival.Catherine, from Sungai Besar, Sabak Bernam, Selangor, is of Chinese-Indian parentage. She became a household name for Hokkien song enthusiasts worldwide when she won the World Hokkien Songs Competition held in Fuzhou, China in 2009.
