Killing of ex-teacher: Post-mortem report not ready

Kota Kinabalu: The post-mortem report in the case of a 67-year-old woman charged with killing a retired teacher is not ready yet.

Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun fixed Feb 8 to further mention the case of Chin Su Chin.

Chin allegedly murdered her friend Ngui Lim Kiau, 64, at 3pm on Sept 23, 2016 at a house in Kepayan Ridge, here.

The offence under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries the death sentence, on conviction.

So far, no plea has been taken from Chin as her plea would be recorded at the High Court.

The court ordered Chin remanded further as the charge against her has no provision for bail.

In previous proceedings, the prosecution informed the court that the medical report from Hospital Mesra in Bukit Padang, stated that Chin was fit to enter her plea.

In another case, a man was jailed seven months for having a stolen motorcycle.

Jeffry Juneh pleaded guilty to having the stolen machine at 7.40pm on Aug 19, 2016 at a village in Keningau.

He was ordered to serve the jail sentence from the date of his arrest.

Inspector Rasydan Jasni appeared for the prosecution.
