Two killed in separate mishaps

Sandakan: Two people, including an 11-year-old boy, were killed in two separate accidents, here, last Saturday.It was learnt that the boy, identified as Najib Ajhul, was on his way to Sungai Tiram, Mile 19, Jalan Labuk when the car he was in skidded and crashed by the roadside at about 5pm. He died on the spot.

In the other accident at 10pm, a 24-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after the motorcycle he was riding lost control along Sungai Batang, off Mile 10, Jalan Labuk.

Meanwhile, District Police Chief ACP Mohd Azhar Hamin urged members of the public who have information on the fatal road accidents to contact Investigation Officer Insp. Rodi Anak Wong at 089-242254 to assist in their investigations.

He said the cases would be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Ordinance 1987.
