Search for MH370 not permanently stopped, says Liow

Kuala Lumpur: Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai has stressed that the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 has not been permanently stopped.He said the search operation was suspended, pending the finding of new credible evidence."If there is any new credible evidence, we will continue to search," he told reporters after opening the Malaysia-France seminar on High Speed Rail, here, Thursday.ADVERTISEMENT Liow said he would be in Perth, Australia this Sunday to receive the Fugro Equator, the last vessel to leave the search area in the southern Indian Ocean."I will be there to thank the search team and also to listen to the views of experts on the way forward."It is not a permanent stop, it is just a suspension, pending (the finding of) credible new evidence," he added.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

He said the Malaysian, Australian and Chinese governments would continue discussions with experts on finding the jetliner which vanished from the radar en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur on March 8, 2014, with 239 passengers and crew members aboard.ADVERTISEMENT On Tuesday, the governments issued a joint communique to announce the search for the Boeing 777-200ER was suspended after unsuccessfully scouring 120,000 sq km of the southern Indian Ocean for the aircraft.
