Kota Kinabalu: Rough sea conditions delayed efforts to bring the Sabah-registered fishing vessel discovered by the Philippine authorities listing in the Sulu waters close to the Sabah border early Thursday. "We are doing our level best to bring the vessel back. In fact, operations were done to get it back two days but it had to be put on hold for the time being due to rough seas," said State Police Commissioner Datuk Ramli Din."Until now there are no further developments, the boat is still under the control of the Philippines security forces," he said. He also said they have also not received any demand for ransom or indication of any crime. ADVERTISEMENT It was learnt that the vessel's three crew members were missing and its engine still running when it was found near Lagawan Island. The fishing vessel, believed to be Sandakan-registered, was found around the predawn hours and the fate of the three Indonesian crew aged 26, 29 and 47 is still unknown. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar was recently quoted as saying that they have not received any information from their Philippine counterparts. "So far, what we have been informed by our counterparts across the border is that they only found an empty fishing boat at the area and the three crew inside the boat could not be contacted. We are still waiting," Khalid was quoted as saying on Saturday.
