Kota Kinabalu: A 42-second video which had gone viral over Parti Warisan Sabah president, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal's revelation of his ancestry has raised eyebrows among local leaders here.Parti Bersatu Sabah deputy youth chief Christopher Mandut has since questioned Shafie's so-called "strong supporters" on their stand over their president admitting to having ties with "paperless people" who entered Sabah illegally decades ago.

"In the video, he (Shafie) admitted that paperless people in Semporna and Lahad Datu who entered Sabah illegally long ago as his 'nenek-nenek' (ancestors). These people he meant are what today we call illegal immigrants," said Mandut.

"We would like to know the stand of his (Shafie's) deputy, Darell Leiking, vice president Junz Wong and others who left their respective opposition parties to join him in Warisan on the matter?

"Will they condone such comments by their president," queried Mandut.

He said it was uncalled for of a senior politician to associate himself with illegal immigrants, especially when this group of people had been blamed as the cause of Sabah's problems.

On another development, Mandut also stressed that Warisan is daydreaming when it claimed it would create a political tsunami after "catching" some small time politicians from PBS.

"When these small fries, disappointed and frustrated (PBS) branch chiefs joined them, they (Warisan) claim the world is in their hands.

"Warisan is just a bunch of hoppers with no political principles. They are 'jumping frogs' looking for greener pastures. But can the rakyat trust them," Mandut questioned.

Junz recently released a statement that a political tsunami is breeding in Sabah and would cause the downfall of Barisan Nasional in the state in the upcoming 14th General Election.

He also announced that several branch chiefs from PBS and United PasokMomogun KadazanDusun Murut Organisation joined Parti Warisan, and claimed it as "overwhelming support" from strong BN grassroot leaders.
