Sports Board organising Under-12 c'ship

Kota Kinabalu: By GL OhSabah Sports Board will organise an Under-12 badminton championship which will be held at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex on March 3-5.Sports Board director Anthony C. Linggian who made the announcement Monday, said it is open to boys and girls for the Under-12 and Under-10 category.

"There will be singles and doubles event for both categories and it is open for 500 entries only," he said.According to him, the three-day tournament supported by Youth and Sports Ministry, MSN, State Education Department, Kota Kinabalu Education Department office and Kota Kinabalu District Badminton Association is staged to help the State badminton association in promoting the sport here in Kota Kinabalu."This competition will give the chance for the young players to gain experience as well as to show their talents."We also hope to unearth more potential players and hopefully they can be groomed into future State players," he added.
