Jessica to lead KK's challenge in State meet

Kota Kinabalu: British Junior Open semi finalist Jessica Keng will lead Kota Kinabalu's challenge in the State Schools Sports Council (MSSS) competition to be held in Sandakan next week.The SMK Inanam student easily brushed aside Etain Tay from SM All Saints' 11-1, 11-2, 11-2 in the final to win the district girls' under-15 title at the Likas Stadium squash courts, Thursday.In the senior category, Kayden Liew from SM All Saints' beat Nicholas Tan from SM Shan Tao 11-8, 9-11, 11-5, 12-10 for the under 18 boys title and the girls title went to Audrey Richard also from SM All Saints who beat Joanne Joseph from SMK Bahang in straight sets 11-7, 11-6, 11-6.

The boys under-15 title was won by Adam Goh from SMK Sri Nangka who defeated Muhd Azib from SM All Saints' 11-6, 11-4, 11-3 .Meanwhile, the boys and girls under-12 titles went to Tristan Andreas and Rachel Gabil. Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

A total of 18 schools, including seven primary schools, took part in the two-day event.Top four finishers from each category were selected to represent the district and the other chosen players are Richie Richard Gabiil, Muhd Luqman Ashrap Abd Karim (boys under-18); Deborah Lai, Venysia Chin (girls under-18); Douglas Lee, Fernando Richard Gabil (boys under-15); Jerica Johnny, Rebeca Lai (girls under-15); Euven Liaw, Danial Danish, Jeremy Wong (boys under-12) ;Rachel Gabil, Doyce Lee, Euodia Lai, Nicole Anne Kmaran (girls under-12). - GL Oh
