Kuala Lumpur: MMC Port Holdings Sdn Bhd (MMC Ports) a member of MMC Group, has bagged two awards at the 2017 Global Ports Forum Awards which was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently.

Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) received the Process Compliant Port/Terminal of The Year award while Johor Port Bhd for Bulk Liquid Port/Terminal of The Year, in recognition of their roles and achievements in the respective areas.

In a statement Monday, Group Managing Director of MMC Corp Bhd, Datuk Seri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, said the awards signified MMC Ports' outstanding presence in the industry.

"The awards show our unwavering commitments in raising the standards higher to provide value-added quality services for our customers," he said.

Che Khalib said PTP, the biggest transhipment terminal port in Malaysia, would be upgrading its ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 to the latest 2015 version.

"PTP was also the first Malaysian port to be awarded for Integrated Management System certification in 2008," he said.

On Johor Port, Che Khalib said, it provided specialised facilities to cater to both edible and petrochemical cargoes.

"The terminal features multiple high capacity loading arms to allow liquid bulk cargoes to be piped directly to the tank storage farms at high transfer rate," he said. – Bernama
