SHAH ALAM: Selangor Umno Monday unanimously rejects the resignation of Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos as Sungai Besar Umno division chief and as Sungai Besar Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, said state chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar. He said the decision was made after evaluating all contributions by Jamal for the party especially in assisting BN to win the Sungai Besar by-election in June last year. However he said, the Selangor UMNO's decision would be forwarded to the party's Supreme Council (MT) for its consideration. "We will abide by whatever action taken by the MT, as the state liaison committee has no authority on membership matters," he told reporters after chairing Selangor Umno monthly meeting here Monday. Earlier Jamal was firm on giving up his posts as he did not want to burden Umno with his arrest over trespassing an entertainment centre in December last year. –Bernama
