M'sia take on Bangladesh tomorrow

Kota Kinabalu: Twenty national women footballers left for Singapore on Wednesday for the Regional Women's Development Tournament 2017 to be held at the Jalan Besar Stadium starting today (Thursday) until February 19.The triangular tournament will feature Malaysia, Bangladesh and hosts Singapore with the opening match tonight starting at 7.30pm between Singapore and Bangladesh.

Malaysia will open their campaign tomorrow (Friday) against Bangladesh followed by the Singapore match on Saturday.

Head coach Asyraaf Fong Abdullah said the tournament will serve as the best platform to see the progress of the team before the third phase training camp which is set to begin in mid April.

"The team are very positive ahead of the tournament and I will try several formations for the team during the competition.

"The players have given their full commitment during the training sessions and friendly matches.

Only Malini Nordin and Sherielynn Elly Pius are nursing minor injury and I hope they will recover within three days," he said.

The players in the team are Nurul Azurin Mazlan, Sheilynn Elly Pius, Eslilah Esar,Usliza Usman, Nur Athirah Farhana, Malini Nordin, Masturah Majid, Haindee Mosroh, Jaciah Jumilis, Dadree Rofinus, Jl Fedalliah Claritta Jaimin, Asma Junaidi, Angela Kais, Marcella Angela Parais, Yasrikalaura Tumas, Nur Atikah Abdul Wahab, Anis Aishah Asiati, Puteri Noralisa Wilkilson, Nur Athirah Mamat and Nurhaniza Saarani. - GL Oh
