Micro credit scheme for youths to be launched next month

Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YESS), with a RM10 million fund for youths keen to become entrepreneurs, is expected to be launched next month.Sabah Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan said the micro-credit programme to help youths venture into entrepreneurship was the State Government's initiative to help youths become independent and boost their standard of living.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

"The 2017 Budget tabled by Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman, last year has a special allocation under the Sabah Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme in the form of loans for youths who are keen to become entrepreneurs," he told reporters here, Wednesday.

He said each youth could receive a RM2,000 loan while groups of two to five people could borrow up to RM5,000.
