Kota Kinabalu: Business, Economics and Accounting Faculty (FPEP) of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) will establish a partnership with one of State's non-governmental organisations (NGOs), namely Association of Hawkers and Petty Traders Sabah (GP3NS).

This was disclosed by FPEP Dean, Associate Prof Dr Raman Noordin, in a workshop jointly organised by FPEP and the NGO, recently.

Dr Raman said the result of the workshop led to an agreement on the need for cooperation and partnership between the two sides.

"Some issues which were major challenges to GP3NS had been discussed at the workshop and both parties agreed to establish a committee to be chaired by the lecturer of FPEP, Zechariah Dasan, for this purpose," he said.

He added that the workshop, themed "Enhancing the Role of Hawkers and Petty Traders Association of the State", was planned in advance with GP3NS and well received by members.
