M'sia make q-finals

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia moved into the quarterfinals of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam despite losing 2-3 to Indonesia in their final Group B match at the Nguyen Du Cultural Centre in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, Thursday.

Malaysia had taken a 2-0 lead when Lim Chi Wing defeated Firman Abdul Kholik 21-19, 21-15 and mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Lai Jemie beat Edi Subaktiar/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja 21-16, 21-16.

Indonesia however, fought back to clinch the first point when Teo Ee Yi/Ong Yew Sin lost to Wahyu Nayaka Arya Pankaryanira/Ade Yusuf 11-21, 21-17, 20-22 in the men's doubles.

Lee Ying Ying lost to Gregoria Mariska 8-21, 21-16, 15-21 in the women's singles while women's pair Chow Mei Kuan/Lee Meng Yean also lost to Anggia Shitta/Tiara Rosalia 19-21, 18-21 to concede the tie. – Bernama
