Tawau: Shuttler Tan Wee Kiong said he is motivated by the new found fame after his silver medal outing in the Rio Olympics last year."Definitely more people got to know me and it certainly motivated me to achieve more success and not become lazy," he said upon his return here, Saturday.He said as the world ranked number one doubles pair with Goh V Shem, they will try to win as many titles as possible.

"Ranked first or second does not bother me. The ranking will drop one day with the emergence of many young talents in the scene and my target is to win as many titles as we can."Tan also expressed gratitude to the State Government and Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan for recognsing him as state icon.
"The recognition proved that players from Tawau can also make it to the world stage and the momentum must be maintained."He urged local players who want to follow his footsteps to take up professional training.
