Sharif wins FT golf tournament

Labuan: One hundred golfers took part in the Federal Territory Golf Tournament at the Labuan International Golf Course (LIGC) on Sunday.The event organised by Labuan Corporation (LC) was sponsored by Maswings, Transview Golf Sdn Bhd, Cahayapacks Sdn Bhd, Fraser and Neave and major hotels in Labuan.

LC chief executive officer Azhar Ahmad when speaking at the prize-giving ceremony said the annual tournament had attracted golfers from neighbouring Brunei, Kota Kinabalu, Beaufort, Bongawan and Sarawak.

"Through the many tournaments and the regular friendly matches, we have achieved our goal of strengthening fellowship and improving golfing skills among the participants and members," he said.

In the tournament, 10 handicapper Sharif Mohamad Din won the open category with 38 points, Gaplin Nasaruddin (Hcp 10) won the invitation category with 38 points and Lee Suk Len (Hcp 18) won the ladies category with 38 points. – Bernama
