The trailer lorry, he said, came from Pekan Inanam and was heading towards a junction to make a U-turn at Jalan Tuaran near SK Lok Yuk Inanam.
The trailer lorry reached the junction and was making the U-turn when the motorcyclist crashed into its back.
Preliminary findings showed the mishap was due to the lorry driver's negligence in making sure the route was clear of any vehicles before making the U-turn.
The 44-year-old lorry driver and his 34-year-old passenger escaped unscathed.

Further inspections also found the stretch to be dark due to non-functioning streetlights.
