Kuala Lumpur: Kim Jong-Nam did not die of heart attack. In confirming this today, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said: "There is no evidence of any heart attack".

He further said – "And there's nothing obvious for us to suggest and puncture marks or wounds(on the body).

In a press conference held at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, Noor Hisham added they have yet to ascertain the cause of death as they are still waiting for the post-mortem analysis result to be released. He said they were also waiting for the victim's next-of-kin to come and identify the body and ease the process of releasing the body.

"We cannot make a conclusive remark until we get all the reports," he said, adding that the examination was conducted by qualified and experienced consultant forensic pathologists, forensic radiologist and forensic odontologist.

He said the medico-legal specimens were handed to the investigating police officer soon after the post-mortem examination to be sent to accredited laboratories for analysis.

Noor Hisham explained that the analyses was to confirm the identity of the deceased person and also the cause of death, both of which are still pending.

"So far, no family members have come forward to claim the body," he said, adding that there was no second autopsy performed on the body.

Noor Hisham added authorities will seek other modes of identification if the next-of-kin fail to show up within 14 days after the post-mortem result has been released.

"Other ways of identifying the body include (using) dental records to match the victim and external examination (of distinctive marks) like scars, moles and previous surgeries," he said.

Jong-Nam, who is the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, died on Feb 13 while being sent to hospital.

He was at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 believed to be en route to Macau when a woman came and covered his face with a piece of cloth which was laced allegedly with poison.

Police have so far arrested four people carrying identity documents from North Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam to help with the investigation.
