Kota Kinabalu: PAS Sabah urged Parti Bersatu Sabah's (PBS) Muslim members to leave the party immediately if PBS persisted in opposing the proposed amendment to the RUU355.PAS Sabah Commissioner Mohd Aminuddin Aling said the statement issued by PBS Acting President Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili confirmed that the party is indeed anti-Islam.

"It seems that PBS is trying to prevent the wishes of Muslims who would like to increase the power of the Syariah court. PBS dared to interfere in the affairs of Muslims.

PAS Sabah hopes that PBS does not instil hatred between the multi-religious people. This could lead to disharmony in Sabah," he said.

He said PBS should respect and be grateful that Islam has its own rules and way of life according to the Quran.

PAS also does not break the rules and the constitution in the country.

"PAS Sabah is hoping that all parties especially in Sabah to be matured and civilised.

All political parties must respect each other's struggle. Most importantly, all political parties must defend the people just as what PAS is doing with the RUU355," he said.
