SESB: Power supply to seven Dalit villages to be done in stages

Kota Kinabalu: The Rural Electrification Scheme Project officiated by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Joseph Kurup at Dalit, Sook recently involves power supply to seven villages. Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd Corporate Communications General Manager Chendramata Sinteh in a statement here on Wednesday said, however, supply to all seven villages, namely, Kampung Kahaba, Kampung Dalit Gana Kampung Punggol, Kampung Dalit Laut, Kampung Melosok, Kampung Kalampun and Kampung Inandung will be done in stages. She said several houses in Kampung Kahaba and Kampung Dalit Gana have received their electricity supply and that SESB is still in the application process for the power supply connection to houses from other villages. ADVERTISEMENT To ease the process, SESB will also hold briefings and mobile counters to the villages concerned to provide further explanation on the process and the application procedure as well as power supply connection. Power supply connection to three villages namely Kampung Nantabakan, Kampung Tataluan and Kampung Belinin which is also within Dalit, Sook will be operational once the installation acquisition process from contractors is completed. The handing over of project for testing and commission is expected to be done next month.
