Penampang: Economic hardship continued to be the main complaint voiced by voters in the suburban areas here, especially among the younger generations."Many of them are tired of having to see their relatives and friends forced to leave their families behind just to seek jobs outside of Sabah. They asked why, Sabah, a rich State, could not even give gainful employment for its children?" said Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) Penampang Youth Chief Ian Mahendra Krishnan. He added that during the party's house-to-house visit in and around Penampang and Kapayan, he found that many people are generally accepting Warisan as a new party.

The older generations, he said, are still unhappy about the Government and the way the country is governed. The politics of development played by Barisan Nasional (BN), he said, is no longer able to sustain the people's interest or to persuade voters to stay loyal to their old guard."The younger generations are more sensitive about the economy. Prices are getting higher and people are finding it more difficult to pay their bills and other necessities, thanks to GST.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

"If in the past, the politicians only fight among themselves and voters would choose who to vote based on their policies, now, the attack has gone down to the people. The Government is incessantly formulating new ways to get the money out of the people's pockets and into the Government's coffers," he said.
