Goh stepping down as Shareda President

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association's (Shareda) Datuk Francis Goh is stepping down on March 25 after completing his two terms as president of the association. He took over as president on March 17, 2013 and was returned uncontested in 2015. Shareda Secretary General Datuk Chua Soon Ping on Friday said all members of the body can be nominated into office at the election of office-bearers in the Shareda Council at every alternate annual general meeting. ADVERTISEMENT Except the office of president, deputy president and two vice presidents of which shall be filled by members who have served in the council for at least one term in the preceding six years, he said. "The Shareda Council consists of 18 members of which five members are appointed by the elected president at the first council meeting, while the rest are elected. "The said Council comprises a President, an Immediate Past President, a Deputy President, two Vice Presidents, a Secretary-General, a Treasurer-General, an Assistant Secretary-General and 10 Council members, including a Chairperson of the Youth Committee," he said. He added that upon the closing of nomination for the election of office-bearers, all posts this year remained uncontested except for the office of the president and deputy president. ADVERTISEMENT The candidates contesting for president are Deputy President Chew Sang Hai and Kong Chung Vui (Vice President), while for deputy president it will pit Datuk John Chee against him (Chua).
