Sandakan: Students and teachers of SK Tg Papat 2, a school that is built above the sea at Kg Sim-Sim, have been asked to move to another school nearby for safety reasons.Tg Papat Assemblyman Datuk Raymond Tan said they are expected to move to SK Tg Papat 1, located in the same village after the school holiday break.

He said the school has been deemed unsafe for the students and teachers to use.

In an unrelated matter, Tan has issued an instruction to the Public Works Department (PWD) to provide a detailed report on the sewerage maintenance work that has been carried out in the district.

"I've also asked the department to mention in the report when and how the maintenance work was done, including actions they have taken on public complaints," he said after attending the District Action Committee meeting here, Monday.

On this note, he stressed the importance of keeping the sewerage system in the district in good working order.

Aside from that, he said drainage systems and treatment plants must be kept clean at all times.

"That's why we must keep to the maintenance schedule to ensure everything is clean and in working order," he added.

Also present was Sandakan Municipal Council president Datuk James Wong.
