Man, passenger seriously hurt in Tenom accident

Tenom: A man and his passenger sustained serious injuries when the Proton Wira they were in collided with Isuzu D-Max vehicle at Km 3, Jalan Tenom –Kemabong here, on Sunday. Fire and rescue personnel took close to an hour to get the trapped victims out from the Proton Wira following the 1.10pm mishap. District Police Chief DSP Firdaus Francis said the accident took place along a straight stretch during clear weather.

He said initial investigations showed that Proton Wira was driven by a 22-year-old Javanese man who was heading towards Tenom from Kemabong with his 24-year-old passenger. Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

The Isuzu was driven by a 38-year-old Murut man who was heading to Kemabong from Tenom. The injured duo were rushed to the Keningau Hospital, while the Isuzu driver escaped unscathed. – Mail Mathew
