PETALING JAYA: Ben Leong has made another significant improvement in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR).The 31-year-old's maiden Asian Development Tour (ADT) triumph — at the PGM Northport Glenmarie Championship on Saturday — has propelled him to No. 532 for his best position since February 2010. He was ranked a career-best No. 284 in 2008, reported The Star.Ben made a big move last month, vaulting from No. 1,183 to No. 831 after finishing a creditable tied 12th at the Asian and European Tour jointly-sanctioned Maybank Championship.ADVERTISEMENT The one-time Asian Tour winner, however, is still the fourth best-ranked Malaysian behind Gavin Kyle Green (No. 245), Danny Chia (No. 318) and Nicholas Fung (No. 367).Ben is now keen to build on his solid start, especially on the Asian Tour. He regained his Tour card through Qualifying School in January."It's great to see my hard work is paying off," said Ben, who was plagued by a career-threatening back injury in 2012 and 2013.ADVERTISEMENT "Hopefully this ADT win will help me prepare well for the upcoming tournaments on the Asian Tour."Ben's next Asian Tour start is the Yeangder Heritage in Taiwan from April 27-30.

But before that, he will bid for more domestic glory at the PGM Port Dickson Closed Championship (March 29-April 1) and the ADT-sanctioned PGM UMW TPC Kuala Lumpur Championship (April 12-15). Ben is currently on a hot streak, having won six of his last eight PGM Tour starts.
