Jail for two over fake MyPR and genuine MyKad

Kota Kinabalu: Two foreigners were jailed by the Magistrate's Court here Friday for having a fake MyPR and a genuine MyKad.Markos Darius, 32, and Saipul Abdullah, 18, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Cindy Mc Juce Balitus to the offences framed against them.Markos was jailed 30 months for having a fake MyPR bearing the serial number 850510-12-5753 at 10am on March 21 at a counter in the Investigation and Enforcement Division of the National Registration Department here.

The court was told that the photograph and the details on the document were fake.Meanwhile, Saipul was handed 25 months for having one David Basir's MyKad bearing the number 000817-12-0673 at 12.20pm on Feb 28 at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, in front of the Wisma KFC, here.Markos and Saipol were respectively charged under Section 25(1)(e) and Section 25(1)(o) of the National Registration Regulations, which carries a jail term of up to three years or fine on conviction.Balitus ordered them referred to the Immigration Department after serving their sentences.

Meanwhile, another two foreigners were sentenced to 12 months' jail for theft.Mustapa Rasal, 32, and Sani Isnani, 21, admitted to stealing two planks at the roundabout along Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens at 1.30am on March 18.

Inspector James Paran, prosecuting, told the court that the duo were apprehended by a security guard of a company working on drainage upgrading works for stealing the planks.Paran also informed the court that both Mustapa and Sani were jailed five months and ordered given one stroke of the cane each at the Sessions Court for illegal entry.The court ordered the duo to serve the sentences concurrently.
