Handal's unit awarded RM2.3m maintenance service contract

Kuala Lumpur: Handal Resources Bhd's unit, Handal Offshore Services Sdn Bhd, has been awarded a crane maintenance service contract worth RM2.3 million by SapuraKencana Energy Peninsula Malaysia Inc.In a filing to Bursa Malaysia Tuesday, Handal said the contract would be for the duration of two years, effective March 2017, with an option for a one year extension.

"It is expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings and net assets per share for the financial year ending December 31, 2017," it said.

In a separate statement, the group said it would continue to seek such contracts which formed the core of their expertise in order to enlarge their order book.

"We are in the process of tendering for various new contracts, worth approximately RM263 million, to replenish our order book for the current and future financial years," said Handal Group Advisor and Deputy Managing Director Joel Emanuel Heaney. – Bernama
