Brandon and Leviance take soft tennis crowns

Kota Kinabalu: Brandon Lim Zhi Hong and Leviance Chong Xing Qi were crowned men and ladies champion at the Sabah Closed Soft Tennis Championship held at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex over the weekend.Brandon defeated Daron Mohd Shafiz 4-0, Nigel Doong 4-2 and Darel Chee 4-3 in the final group matches to take the title with Darel in second place after he beat Daron 4-0 and Nigel 4-3 while Nigel took the third spot with a 4-1 win over Daron.Leviance on the other hand captured the ladies with wins over Jaimie Luk 4-1, Lavender Chong 4-2 and Janice Chia Yuen Yin 4-0.

Jamie Luk took the runner-up spot with her 4-1 win over Lavender and another 4-1 win over Janice.Leviance also claimed the mixed doubles title with Christ Chong with Brandon Lim and Lavender in second place while Darel Chee/Janice Chia and Gladwin Lee/Hannah Guansing were the losing semi-finalists.In the junior categories, Afif Danish took the under 12 title and Edison in second place with Etan Lee and Chloe Wong in joint third.Afif was also crowned the under 10 champion with Jadidiah Kwan Ming Zhe in runner-up spot and the two losing semi-finalists were Alfie Ridzqi Shamsul Syahiran and Ethan Lee.

Dannes Chua captured the under-8 title followed by Krishen Gil Jayendran in second place with Vishnu Anthony Nair and Denise Koshy in joint third place.The organier also presented four most promising players awards to Hector Koshy, Eugiene Lee, Glenda Lee and Jeremy Chung.
