Chong Wei breezes into quarter-finals

Kuching: Datuk Lee Chong Wei breezed into the quarter-final of the Malaysia Open on Thursday after defeating Hu Yun of Hong Kong, in straight sets, 21-8, 21-6.The world number one player took just 27 minutes to send the veteran shuttler packing in front of thousands of fans at Perpaduan Stadium in Petra Jaya here.In the quarter-final, Chong Wei will face 21 year-old Jeon Hyeok-Jin of South Korea. The world number 49 defeated Frenchman Brice Leverdez, 21-13, 21-10, in another tie.ADVERTISEMENT When met by reporters after the match, Chong Wei said he was delighted with the win since his aim was to wrap up the match as soon as possible."I am not taking my quarter-final opponent lightly as it will be my first encounter with the South Korean player," he added.
