Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah President Cup squad are desperate to register their first win of the season as they take on Pahang away at Stadium MP Temerloh today (Thursday) starting at 4.45pm.After their first two draws at the start of the season against PKNP and PKNS, it has all gone wrong for Justin Ganai's boys with successive defeats against Negeri Sembilan, T-Team and Selangor.

Three points today against the team who are in sixth place with seven points from two wins, a draw and two losses will certainly give them the confidence boost needed to kick start their campaign.

As newly appointed team manager Azman Mastar had said earlier the team played well overall despite the poor results.

He reckoned they had created enough chances but it was the lack of good goalscorers that let the team down in all the previous matches.

He said Justin had tried his best in the training session to enhance shooting accuracy of the players but despite the extra efforts, the result still seems to elude them.

The match today will see the team's starting line up further handicapped with the absence of main striker Hamran Peter who was called up by the senior squad for the Premier League match against Kuantan tomorrow (Friday) here at the Likas Stadium.

With his absence, Yussedy Yusman has been called up to fill in the slot while the others are unchanged with Masran Masri in goal.

The defensive four will be Sullan Elvis Noh, Ranilson Batuil, Masmilan Anil Matlan and Zaki Sapri.

Midfielders are Dexy Mildy Juanis, Standley Sulong, Devid Ansarui and Azmizan Ruslih while Fazriel Hanafi Stephanus will partner Yussedy up front. - GL Oh
