Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Rhinos gained three points by obtaining a 2-1 win against Kuantan FA in a Premier League match at the Likas Stadium on Friday night. The visiting team opened the scoring as early as a minute into the game through Ljubo Baranin's fantastic goal.

The Serbian dashed for another attempt in the 26th minute but failed to finish it a minute before Leopold Alfonso Otong made a try but he shot directly into the arms of Kuantan's goalkeeper Mohd Sheril Anuar Saini.

But the disappointment was redeemed swiftly through Rahman Shah Marajeh's equaliser which he swept in from Sabri Sahar's cross in the 28th minute.

The score remained 1-1 until the end of the first half.

The second half of the match witnessed a more aggressive play from both sides with a red card shown at Kuantan's Muhd Hashim Shamsudin in the 51st minute.

Kuantan's deficiency was not wasted as Jelius Ating's boys took full advantage of it and their tireless efforts were rewarded with the winning goal from Maxsius Musa in the 60th minute.
