City Hall to hold Unduk Ngadau on May 18-20

Kota Kinabalu: City Hall will be organising the Unduk Ngadau contest in conjunction with the Kaamatan festival to select its winner to represent the city and Likas at the State level grand finale on May 30 and 31.A statement stated that the contest will be held on May 18-20 this year at Padang Merdeka.The screening of 15 contestants for the final round will be held on April 22 starting at 9am at the first floor of City Hall meeting room, here.ADVERTISEMENT Those interested are requested to bring their MyKad, birth certificate and a 4R-sized photo. They are also required to wear body-fit shirt and jeans, wear make-up and tie their hair in a bun. They must also bring along their traditional costumes for photo taking.The statement added that contestants must be single non-Muslim Malaysians. They must also be Kadazandusun/Murut or of mixed Kadazandusun/Murut descent from Sabah and reside or work in the city area.ADVERTISEMENT Contestants must be 18 to 25 years of age on Jan 1, 2017 with a height of not less than five feet and two inches.As for those who are still studying, a letter of approval from their school principal or higher learning institution must be obtained and shown to the organiser.

They can also can contact Victor Gerard at 019-880 6637 or Joanna at 014-356 4228 for further enquiries.The closing date is on April 22.In another statement, the City hall also informed that participation at the Sugandoi Kaamatan 2017 for the city level is already open.Those who had won the Sugandoi competition either at the State or city levels are not entitled to participate in the competition. About 15 participants will be selected during the shortlisting stage on Apr 22 starting at 10am to 7am at the Oceanus Waterfront Mall ground floor and walk in participants are allowed.Five finalists will be chosen to contest at the final round on May 19 starting at 7am at Padang Merdeka, here.
