Man electrocuted after using electric pole to fish in S'kan

Sandakan: A man in his 40s died, believed electrocuted, after using an electric pole to fish in Kampung Mangkalinau, Mile 3 here, Monday.District Police Chief ACP Azhar Mohd Hamin said Kamal Siada was last seen at the swamp area near a vegetable farm on Monday at around 5pm.However, the next day at around 7am, his friend who was going to fetch water at the swamp area to water the vegetables in the farm saw the deceased's body near the swamp.

According to the witness, Kamal had been warned not to use electrified fishing pole to catch fish but he ignored the warning and advice.The farmer was a widower since seven years ago and had been living with his family in Kg Mangkalinau Ice Box.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

His body was sent to the Duchess of Kent Hospital. The cause of death is still under investigation although preliminary investigation showed no sign of criminal activities at the scene.So far, the case has been classified as sudden death. - Mardinah Jikur
