2,000 UMS students join campaign

Kota Kinabalu: More than 2,000 Universiti Malaysia Sabah students took part in the "Jom Baca bersama untuk 10 minit" reading campaign organised by the UMS library here on Tuesday. Library Head Dg Rukiah Ag Amit said this was aligned to the annual programme organised simultaneously by the Malaysian Council of Library Directors nationwide. "The objective is an effort to encourage reading and making libraries an organisation relevant towards the development of education," said Dg Rukiah, adding that it is also a synergise efforts along with the other agencies.

"The programme is just one of the mechanisms to achieve the UMS vision towards academic excellence," she said. The programme was also launched simultaneously at the UMS Labuan International Campus and Sandakan campus branch.
