Kota Kinabalu: A total of 700 stall lots will be opened for the fasting month's Bazaar Ramadan in various locations around the city. City Hall Environmental Health Department Director Robert Lipon said the stalls are allowed to operate from 1pm to 6.30pm. City Hall will open Lintasan Deasoka, Sembulan town, Kingfisher, Inanam Point Night Market, Manggatal Night Market, Telipok Night Market, Putera Jaya, Tanjung Aru town and Likas Bay (for lemang sales only).

As for others managed by companies of management corporations, he said the fasting month bazaar will be opened at Sulaman Central, University Plaza, SMRC Bukit Padang, City Mall, Asia City agriculture market, Taman Indah Permai, BSA Kolombong, Likas Sports Complex and Giants hypermarket in Kolombong. "Stall operators are advised to adhere to the rules of operation and keep good hygiene quality, as well as cleanliness of their stall surroundings.
"We also want stall operators to prepare rubbish bins and display their licences at all times," said Lipon, adding that City Hall and the District Health Office will constantly be making rounds throughout the month-long fasting period. "Those who break the rules could face a fine of not more than RM500 under the Hawkers By-law and Anti-Litter By Law," he said.

Lipon said several roads would also be closed to make way for the stall operation namely Jalan Bandaran next to the City Hall headquarters here, Indah Permai car park and Sembulan town.

Towards this end, he also warned motorists not to obstruct traffic or endanger other road users when parking their cars to visit to any Bazaar Ramadan.
