Probe on armed men sighting

Lahad Datu: Police are investigating a report lodged by a plantation worker who claim to have met five armed men at Ladang Sawit in Felda Sahabat 2.State Police Commissioner, Datuk Ramli Din confirmed that police have received the report which was lodged several days after the alleged sighting. It was learnt that the 52-year-old plantation worker spotted five armed individuals in camouflage trousers while clearing a banana farm about 6.20pm on April 30.

The plantation worker claimed he heard voices which appeared like people having a conversation, which led to him meeting the group. Two of the individuals talked to him when they became aware of his presence and asked if the man came from the Philippines or Indonesia. They also told the man that they came to rescue the people in Sabah and that 37 other individuals have landed at the beach. - Efa Rizan
