Man, 20, admits to robbing Korean woman

Kota Kinabalu: A 20-year-old man on Tuesday pleaded guilty to robbing a Korean woman.However, Sessions Court Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim deferred Ag Radni Ag Rajit's sentencing to June 8 this year pending the availability of his social report from the Welfare Department.Ag Radni stood accused of robbing one Kang Myoung Sook, 41, of a wallet containing ATM cards, a Malaysian driving licence, Korean bank cards, a car key, a camera and some cash.

During the alleged crime, he together with two other men, Albert Algabra and Mohd Sofrey Purungan who were sentenced to 11 years' jail and ordered to get a stroke of the cane after they admitted to the charge, had used a Rambo knife.The offence allegedly took place at 1.30am on March 27 this year at a unit at the 1Borneo Tower B apartment, here.The offence under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, on conviction.Ag Radni is currently serving sentence for a drug offence.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Dinesh Raja appeared for the prosecution while counsel Azmi Alimat defended Ag Radni.Meanwhile, in another court, a woman and four men were jailed four months each for entering the State illegally.

The foreigners admitted before Sessions Court Judge Azreena Aziz to entering the State without valid documents.Two of the men also were handed a stroke of the cane each.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
