Senior citizen completes 500km run in six days

Alor Setar: Senior citizen Nasir Abbas who had pledged to run 500km from Shah Alam, Selangor to Alor Setar, Kedah if Kedah won the FA Cup Cup, kept his promise by completing the 500km run in six days. Nasir, 62, who arrived at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar at 4.10pm Friday was welcomed by about 50 fans and supporters. Completing the run in six days was also a new personal record for Nasir who is no stranger to setting out on difficult endurance missions in the past despite his age. "I am happy and grateful to have completed the run safely. The mission (run) this time around was smooth and rather easy compared with previous runs due to good weather. I started my run from the Shah Alam Stadium at 7am on May 21.
