Ranau: The Sabah Tea Farm in Nalapak, here, has been urged to honour the agreement struck with the Government years ago and exclude the land that encompasses three villages from their areas.According to the representative of the villagers, Linos Ranggang, the 715 acres encompassing Kg Waluhu, Lutut and Narawang had been surveyed by the Land and Survey Department on several occasions and the villagers have applied for their village land to be excluded from Sabah Tea area since 20 years ago.Unfortunately, the company's management refused to comply despite the land being planted with rubber trees.ADVERTISEMENT Ranau Member of Parliament Datuk Ewon Ebin (pic) explained that during the reign of PBS, Sabah Tea, which at the time belonged to the State Government, had agreed to exclude the land from their areas. However, after the company was sold to a private entity, the agreement was cancelled by the new management, saying they only made the claim based on their original land title."In order to solve the problem, I will bring the matter to the Land and Survey Department Director to revisit previous agreement so that the best decision can be made," he said at the Kg Wahulu Kaamatan Festival, here, Friday.During the event, Ewon also approved a RM20,000 allocation to repair the wiring in the village's balairaya as well as RM3,000 to equip the kitchen in the village's church.ADVERTISEMENT Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
