Jessica turns table on Sharon to win title

Kota Kinabalu: Jessica Keng turned table on top seed Sharon Wee to win the women division one title at the 33rd Ohana National Squash Championship held at National Squash Centre at Jalan Duta, Friday.The second seed who lost the final to the former international and now a TV sports presenter in straight sets last year beat her opponent in four sets 11-8, 11-5,7-11, 11-6 in the final.Jessica had earlier gone through some rough moment in the quarter final by up and coming fellow Sabahan Yee Xin Ying before winning 11-5, 11-4, 11-13, 11-9 .

Bukit Jalil Sports School-based Duncan Lee also did well in the men division one to reach the second round before losing to eventual winner Siow Yee Xian 5-11, 11-7, 6-11, 11-6, 8-11. In the men's Premier division, Mohd Farez Izwan lost 5-11, 8-11, 9-11, in the first round to Evan Yuen who eventually won the title on Saturday while Lai Wen Li also lost her women opening round match in the Premier league to Aifa Azman 9- 11, 9-11, 11-7, 10-1.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
