Appeal to defer demolition of houses

Kota Kinabalu: PKR State Leadership Council's (MPN) Deputy Secretary, Sazalye Donol, appealed to Mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai to defer Kota Kinabalu City Hall's (DBKK) plan to demolish the local squatter homes at Jalan Bukit Bendera on June 1."I call on the Mayor to consider the postponement of the plan until the squatters have obtained the keys to their new houses under the Hardcore Poor Housing Project (PPRT)," he said in a statement, Saturday.

Meanwhile, Sazalye is awaiting an appointment with the Minister of Local Government and Housing over the issue.
