MARANG: Members of the public should not easily trust the syndicates offering services to obtain the driving licence without having to undergo driving tests conducted by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) as being spread in the social media especially the Facebook. JPJ Deputy Director-General Datuk Wan Ahmad Uzir Wan Sulaiman said in the past there were groups selling false driving licences at between RM1,000 and RM1,500 claiming that the licences would not be black-listed in the JPJ system.

"We have reported this matter to the police for further investigation as it is not true and yesterday, a similar case cropped up in Perak and we are looking into the matter.

"So far, on-line services can only be obtained via the JPJ official portal and there are only seven transactions that can be done via our portal," said Wan Ahmad Uzir when met by reporters at the official closing ceremony for the One Community, One JPJ (SKSJ) programme, here Tuesday.

Also present were Terengganu State JPJ Director, Abdul Rahman Emang Anyie and Chairman of the State Committee on Education, Science, Technology and Government Transformation A. Latiff Awang, who is also the State Assemblyman for Pengkalam Berangan.

He added that so far, the department had not appointed any agent to offer any services. – Bernama
