Ex-convict nabbed in Tawau break-in

Tawau: Police here nabbed a 36-year-old former convict after a close circuit television camera (CCTV) here recorded him breaking into a computer shop at the Fajar Complex here. District Police Chief said the man was apprehended as he was riding a motorcycle at about 12.15am on Wednesday, by a team of policemen during an operation adjacent to a convenience store at Jalan Kee Abdullah. The team also confiscated several items including gadgets from the man who led them to a hotel room at Jalan Masjid.

He said records also showed that the man has two previous convictions for theft in 2002 and 2015. The arrest came following a police report lodged by a 42-year-old shop owner who found several items missing from his shop premises which had been broken into on July 16. - Lagatah Toyos
