Kota Kinabalu: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) through its Engineering Faculty (FKJ) has developed the Integrated Cumulative Grade Valuation Average (iCGPA) system which will be implemented at the next admission of new students for the September 2017-2018 session.

FKJ Dean Prof Ir Dr Abd Karim Mirasa said the FKJ iCGPA Committee, which was formed in November 2016, was tasked to ensure the design and development of the iCGPA system was in line with the requirements of the programmes at UMS.

"The iCGPA introduced by the Ministry of Higher Education aims to enhance the personality and creativity of students towards producing holistic graduates with entrepreneurship and balance.

"In support of the Ministry's initiative, FKJ is committed to implementing iCGPA to new students enrolled in the Civil Engineering Programme (HK01) for the September 2017-2018 admission session, together with the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accounting (FPEP), namely Accounting (HE02)," he said.

Abd Karim said this when officiating the Manual of iCGPA 2017 system at Cafe D'Sireh, UMS.

According to him, all the guidelines and manuals for the iCGPA UMS system generated through the workshop will be published for future use and reference.

"UMS' Strategic and Academic Management Centre (PPSA) entrusted to monitor and coordinate the planning and implementation of iCGPA UMS is also involved in the success of this workshop," he said.

The workshop was attended by 25 participants from FKJ and PPSA.
